And to say I was excited was an understatement... I spent the rest of the evening with a fluffy pillow, a glass of water, and a timer.. yes, yes, that's right, I had the hiccups. I got them after forty five minutes of laughing and squealing with joy... when did they go away? Five hours later. But anyways, that's not the point. Where am I going? I will give you a hint [or two].. 1) La tour eiffel , 2) le louvre or 3) Les croissants au chocolait. Hmm, could it be?!?!Yes, yes, it could! Paris!!
Between Regan [New York] and me [Paris] we will have artistic posts to last for a lifetime!

Today: I discovered a Canadian-French artist that really touched me. Lyzane Potvin, s'il vouz plait, take a bow.

In my opinion: Some of Lyzane's paintings are the perfect symphony of grief, pain, and genius. Her work provokes and posses the viewer, forcing them to experience the disturbing side of depression, revolting human relationships, and woman's sexuality.
Note: Her work is not for all**
Some of her pieces are not for the concervative viewer as they feature or revovle around messages or topics that are foriegn to classical art. So be aware classical art patrons!!

MISSING

Missing: Raegan's blogging partner Rue.

If found, please direct to redsweater blog site and force to post.

Much Thanks, Raegan

We Love Like Vampires (Look it up!)

2010! I can't believe it. A new decade, and doesn't saying '2010' just roll off your tongue like a marble off an uneven table? Fabulous! So now's the time when my friends come to me and ask me what New Year's Resolutions I've made. But I must say, I haven't. I've never been one for making promises to myself that I know I'm not going to keep. No offense to people who use the new year as a reason to change themselves, but I'm perfectly happy the way I live now.

Just because I don't make resolutions doesn't mean I don't have any ambitions for this year. I have many, but just the obvious ones, and I don't really think that I have to change anything to reach them, it's just part of being me. I AM, however, looking forward to some fabulous events! This spring break I've been graced with the chance to go to New York with my art class. There'll be many galleries and shows to be seen, and frankly, I can't wait (the travel company we're using even has a countdown on our online itenerary!). Aside that, there will be much to come I'm sure :)

In any case, I just wanted to post a little note explaining how exciting 2010 is going to be.

WOW! These last few weeks have been hard, and the freaky thing is I cant really figure out why. I mean, Ive been really down and whatnot, and it took an epic girls night and a bake-off to break my funk. feeling the same way, check out a few of these songs.

listen to:

remembering sunday, all time low

angels on the moon, thriving ivory

your guardian angel, red jumpsuit apparatus

Shiver, By: Maggie Stiefvater

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389312862111509762" style="FLOAT: left; One yellow-eyed wolf watches back. He feels deeply familiar to her, but she doesn't know why.

the heat.
Sam lives two lives. As a wolf, he keeps the silent company of the girl he loves. And then, for a short time each year, he is human, never daring to talk to Grace...until now.

the shiver.
For Grace and Sam, love has always been kept at a distance. But once it's spoken, it cannot be denied. Sam must fight to stay human--and Grace must fight to keep him--even if it means taking on the scars of the past, the fragility of the present, and the impossibility of the future.

[From the cover slip]

After waiting four long and intensely boring weeks for this 390 page book too come out, I finally read it!!
Here's what I thought: Stiefvater's descriptors are poetically captivating and beautifully depictive. The characters are believable and enchanting, each indivdually different, yet all together cohesive. The story moves at a steady pase, the characters becoming more transparent as the novel draws to an end. Shiver is a sweet and endearing YA romance novel, ensnaring the reader from the first page.
Recomended for lovers of : Twilight, Blood and Chocolate

for all you music addicts

i really hate having music block [music block = inability to find decent music] .

having my iPod permanently glued to my ears, im always looking for new artists. i generally go through phases of music; one month itll be all about hardcore, the next about power pop, and on and on. this month is all about the awesome indie/pop dance music.
now, ive scoured the thousands of lists i normally have set aside for the occasions in which i go seeking some new stuff, and i cant find anything that stands out. ive I'm a self-professed music addict, who buys more books than she can ever possibly read, and invents words. I love bad weather, the color grey (technically not a color...), and straws that bend. My favorite books are Speak, Wuthering Heights, and the Harry Potter Series. I don't have a favorite writer... it changes every hour or so..right now it's Maggie Stiefvater. I follow House like a religion, and Arrested Development like a way of life.
My co-blogger Raegan is my musical soul mate... or was,,..she started listening to some wierd stuff this summer..But still, she remains to be the most musically literate person I know.
Anyways, if you have a heart for books, music, art, and inexperienced teenage bloggers...welcome..and if not..well..er,.. find another blogger(s).

Keep living life right,
rue

come one, come all

i believe the first post is always the hardest. you know, the whole "what should i write?!" frenzy. im raegan by the way. im just one half of *ahem* a fantastic new blog entitled Redsweater! all introductions aside, this brand new blog will feature me, &&my other half, a brilliant writer by the name of rue.

so this being our very first post (yes i got the honors), i believe i should just you know, explain a little about whats going to be going on around here. basically, rue &&i are going to be using this blog to tell the world about our experiences, hard times, great times, etc. you should also expect what one might call a review or rather, a passing note of great books and music! how awesome is that? if you think so, theres plenty more to come! soo stick around :)
